  2. NetWare/9000 v3.11 for the Series 800 adds new features

  5. o  Product  names and P/Ns:  NetWare for the HP 9000 series  800,
  6. PN:J2240A  and INVS-100003.  NetWare for the HP 9000 series  700,
  7. PN:J2239A and INVS-100002.

  10. NetWare for the HP 9000 800S is enhanced:
  11. Additional  functionality has been added to NetWare with the  new
  12. release of NetWare version 3.11 from Novell.  This new version of
  13. NetWare  for the HP 9000 makes the HP 9000 functionally  similar
  14. to an Intel based NetWare 3.11 server, however NetWare/9000 lacks
  15. support  for  NLMs  and  Apple  connectivity.  New  functionality
  16. includes:

  18. o  Packet Burst support provides greater NetWare throughput  over
  19. widearea networks and faster overall response time.
  20.  
  21. o IP Tunneling provides HP NetWare servers the ability to utilize
  22. existing  TCP/IP  networks to communicate between servers.
  23.  
  24. o  Support  for up to 16 locally attached printers and  over  200
  25. LAN attached printers.

  27. NetWare for the 700S and 800S will be updated in February 1993 to
  28. support Token Ring and HP-UX 9.0.  Furthermore,  NetWare for the
  29. 700S  will  be  updated in February 1993 and NetWare  for  the
  30. series 900 will be updated in May 1993 to NetWare version 3.11.

  32. New Try & Buy Demo Option:
  33. The new Try and Buy Demo option is available immediately for  the
  34. series 800. The Try & Buy Demo along with a media option provides
  35. a complete NetWare/9000 800S product.  For only  $200,  customers
  36. can receive the complete product for evaluation.  This means that
  37. customers  can now evaluate NetWare for the HP9000 series 800 for
  38. 30  days  in their own business environment.  After  choosing  to
  39. purchase  a  permanent license the customer may  choose  to  take
  40. advantage  of  the new delete manuals option for a  $200  credit.

  42. To  order the Try and Buy Demo ( 30 Day Trail Package)  place  an
  43. order  for  product number J2240A and option 001 Try &  Buy  Demo
  44. along  with  a media option.  When placing an order for the  demo
  45. software,  send  a  message  to the  Network  Hotline  on  HPDesk
  46. subject:  NW800S to receive the current temporary codeword needed
  47. to activate the software.

  49. For NetWare 3.01B customers without support service the Try & Buy
  50. Demo  is also an excellent way to move from  NetWare/9000  Series
  51. 800  v3.01B  customers  to  NetWare  v3.11.  Installed  permanent
  52. codewords for NetWare v3.01B also activate NetWare v3.11.

  55. Try  & Buy demo option for the Series 700 will be  available   on
  56. the CPL February 1, 1993.

  58. New Product Numbers for Europe:
  59. On  November  1,  1992 product numbers for NetWare  will  change.
  60. NetWare  on  the  Series 800 product number INVS-100003  will  be
  61. replaced  with product number J2240A.  NetWare on the Series  700
  62. product  number INVS-100002 will be replaced with product  number
  63. J2239A.

  65. Ordering information:
  66. NetWare/9000  pricing remains unchanged however NetWare/9000
  67. is  now  being distributed worldwide under  consolidated  product
  68. numbers.  The Series 800 product structure is being enhanced with
  69. the  addition  of  the new Try & Buy Demo option 001  and  Delete
  70. Manuals option 0B0.
